What a nice speech today by Peter MacDonald of the Navajo Code Talkers at the White House. The enthusiasm, ability to talk without need to refer to notes, and knowledge of the subject puts this as one of the top speeches I have heard, possibly the top speech. However, none of the news reports or "reporters" I saw even bothered to print his name. News reports even weirdly skipped over the whole historic speech. It was as if casting pearls before swine.

The Navajo Code Talkers were treated with the utmost respect by their fellow marines. Major Howard Connor, who was the signal officer of the Navajos at Iwo Jima, said, “Were it not for the Navajos, the Marines would never have taken Iwo Jima.”

There is going to be a Navajo Code Talkers Museum.

Perhaps next Thanksgiving Navajo Code Talkers will be invited to dine at the White House.

Communication. One can pretty much figure that communication has the potential to be a major failure point. This is the stuff that is going to get us:

Great miscalculations: The a fatal miscalculation of food needed on expedition to the South Pole and 10 others. http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-27509559

"The incredible story of the Navajo Code Talkers that got lost in all the politics" i.e. A day later CNN notices it went rabid and totally forgot to tell the news. http://www.cnn.com/2017/11/28/us/navajo ... index.html
