Got a chuckle out of that one. Haven't named any of my snakes yet. I don't mind snakes as long as they're not the two fanged kind. I haven't seen many of those.

kmussack I do not know if voles are as talented as mice but please consider using a seven gallon bucket to dry catch or water in the bottom of the five gallon bucket as it might increase your catch rate.

Mouse jumps out of bucket at 1:45 and 2:23 and Giddy Up 4:09 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4PaGvAhV9I

Ok maybe a 50 gallon bucket if water is mean. I am unsure if mice etc. actually survive when transported miles away in let's say the winter. I'd rather see something get to eat them. I remember an article that talked about finding in a cave a blanket made from the pelts of a lot of voles.

Would it be ok to let chickens eat mice or voles? Or are mice not clean enough to feed chickens we are going to eat? Would the mice or voles need to be dead first? How to do that? Brick? This would be especially good to feed chickens in the winter when bugs are not around. I'm wondering how to store dead mice caught in the summer until needed in the winter as a winter protein source ? Dehydrate? Pickle? Here is what must be the only topic left of the earth with no youtube on it, Pressure Canning Mice Caught in the Summer to Feed Chickens Protein in the Long, Cold Winter Months.

I ran one of these water filled bucket traps for a couple of months last year.
I dumped it every few days.
Never fewer than three dead per dump.

Others might want to try this wire mesh top to keep the caught mice in the bucket. Note mice can jump up and walk around upside down on the underside of the mesh so the youtuber makes even a further upgrade.

Purposely unbaited mouse traps in little dark boxes to catch voles.
